Contact your cemetery for any restrictions or requirements for your specific plot. Do not purchase a Columbaria prior to this step.
Potential additional on-site costs
Your on-site responsibilities include any foundation required by the cemetery and the setting of the stone. Some cemeteries will set stones. Cemeteries and funeral homes can be a source for locating this service.
Design process
Engraving is available in the options section to complete the customization of your monument. Additional options from back face engraving to ceramic portraits and more are offered in this listing and can be added to complete your custom monument. Engraving is priced for text only contact for other graphic pricing.
Once you send your order our designers will complete a graphic of your Columbaria and send it to you for approval. Please review this closely once you approve the graphic and this is engraved there is no changing or correcting carvings.
Some cemeteries will require a design be submitted for approval. In this case our graphic will have all the information need from the dimensions of the stone and the specific granite along with of course the design. Send this graphic for approval and once approved we need approval to proceed. We do not create art prior to purchase. A complete refund will be made for any stone that can not be approved for any reason prior to engraving.
Custom designs can be accommodated and usually are priced between 60-120.00.
Shipping ltl freight lower 48 only
Shipping is free to a commercial business capable of unloading from a Ltl carrier. Business must have access for Semi and full-time employees with equipment to unload the stone which will be palletized. Home based business does not qualify. Cemeteries require additional fee of 200.00 for delivery and will have lift gate service. Residential and Church deliveries require additional fee of 250.00 and will include lift gate service. On all orders we need a contact name and person that will be signing for the stone. Delivery address must be on the order.
Delivery
Our history of shipping stones has a less than 1% occurrence of damage. That said damage can happen and if you follow this procedure, we will handle the claim and replace or repair the damaged stone. You are responsible that the stone is inspected for any damage from transit at the time it is delivered. No stone with damage can be accepted and signed for. If there is damage simply refuse the stone and it will be returned here where we will file the appropriate claim. If you accept and sign for a stone and then want to report damage you will have the responsibility of filing the damage claim. Understand if you signed the ticket for a stone without inspecting and then find damage most carriers will not pay for that claim. Inspect prior to signing- refuse if there is any damage.
Delivery locations options
Carved Impressions has negotiated contracts with multiple common ltl carriers across the county in an effort to offer the best pricing for stones. We ship free to business locations that meet the qualifications detailed below. In all cases we will need the name and the contact number of the person that will be responsible for the stone. The delivery location address on the order. If you are shipping to a location not covered by the business description you will need to purchase additional delivery services. In all cases other than a residential delivery you are responsible for the unloading of the skid. If the location cannot do that you will need to purchase lift gate service. If a carrier arrives at a location and the skid cannot be removed by the location the stone will be sent back to the terminal and you will be contacted for the next delivery attempt (all locations other than residence) and the added service of a lift gate. Again, we work to offer free shipping options to the qualified locations but if you need to change that there will be additional costs.
Business location Free
To qualify this location must be capable of unloading the skid from a 53’ trailer. Access must be unrestricted for the 53’ trailer into the facility. Location must have full time employees on site. If a location regularly service trailers and has equipment to unload heavy skids they should qualify. If there is any question contact us prior to purchase to avoid any issues. Home based business does not qualify. Churches and Cemeteries are both restricted entrance locations for 53’ trailers and do not qualify but you have the option to add service to these locations along with a residence. In addition, the stone can be delivered to a freight companies’ terminal for them to hold until you pick it up. The terminal will set the skid on your truck and any trailer without a gate. The terminal usually is within 100 miles of destination address. Please contact us prior to purchase to determine which terminal we would be shipping to. Please note you will be contacted by the terminal when this is ready to pick up and you will need to be ready to do so. You will have a ship notice on any delivery location and a tracking that will have an eta.
Terminal Pick up- Free
We ship to a freight terminal. Location of terminal is based on our carrier contracts and may not be the closest terminal. Carrier will place skid on your truck or trailer
Cemetery adds 200.00
The cemetery must be accessible for a 53’ trailer. Please check with your cemetery for confirmation and gate entrance directions. The cemetery must have equipment to unload the stone. Please confirm this prior to purchase. If they do not you will need to also add a lift gate service to delivery. Every cemetery in the US must have a street address. Without that address the carrier will not accept the delivery. Attempting to meet a carrier at a location for delivery is not advised. Common carriers are unreliable as to delivery times. We can have the carrier set to call prior to delivery to try and get you a better window but that isn’t always reliable and the real issue is if you miss the carrier you will be responsible for a charge for the next delivery attempt that will be 100.00 more and up depending on the carrier and delivery location. So again, we do not advise attempting to meet a carrier at any location.
Residence & Church adds 250.00
This covers delivery along with a lift gate to set the skid on the end of the drive way. The carrier will not be responsible for anything more. You will need to have someone there to inspect the stone and sign for the delivery. Carriers will call to set an appointment for delivery and in most cases call prior to arrival. Very important that you have someone home. If the carrier is missed there will be a charge for the next delivery that usually exceeds 100.00 and up based on carrier and delivery location.
Communication
All communication on any stone will be strictly in writing. We do not take any phone calls on stones. We will answer all questions you have in writing and you will have that record to assist in your process.
