Step 1- Contact your cemetery for restrictions and requirements for your specific plot(s). This could pertain to type, style, material, shape, design, color, foundation and more. Do not purchase a bench prior to this step.
Step 2- Your on-site responsibilities. You are responsible for setting the bench in place. This will start with the foundation (concrete) for the bench to set on. Many cemeteries will construct this for a fee. The setting of the bench can be contracted, if needed, with the cemetery, retail monument dealer, vault dealer or a funeral home that sells stones can be a good source for this service.
Step 3- select a style and design for your bench. In granite- size, color and shape are large factors in cost. Characters counts allowed are detailed for each bench. Additional options such as bases, portraits and flower vases are offered in most cases see customizations. You can customize your bench to exactly what you need. You can purchase this listing and once designed we will send a link to purchase additional items or contact us with exactly what you want a we will send a link for the entire package.
Step 4- place your order. Reference the engraving characters counts in the personalization boxes. This includes engraving priced by section. Items to add such as portraits, flower vase or granite bases. Please enter your correct ship to address on the order and not your home address unless you are paying for residential delivery.
Step 5- Designing your bench. Once purchased, our designers collect your personalization and create a graphic sent to you for review and any changes. You must approve this for order to be processed. We do not create designs without an order. For any reason we cannot get a design you or the cemetery approve we refund 100% only exception is you have purchased a stone not permitted by the cemetery due to not following step one and then we refund and deduct our design time. Some cemeteries will require approval of final design. The graphic we send will have all the information for you to submit to cemetery. We do not contact cemetery that is your responsibility. Simply hold approval of graphic until cemetery approves.
Step 6- Engraving process. Standard time for engraving from approved design is approximately 5 weeks.
Step 7- Shipping. We ship free to a commercial business with full time employees and equipment to unload the skid with the headstone. We also ship free to a freight terminal where you can pick up the stone. The carrier will set the skid on your truck or trailer. Shipping to a cemetery requires full time employees and will add a liftgate to the service the added charge is 200.00. Shipping to a residence or church adds a liftgate with added charge of 250.00. Home base businesses and farms do not qualify as commercial businesses and do not qualify for free shipping. All additional fees are the added charges from the carriers. Contact us for costs associated with delivery appointments.
Step 8- Delivery. We ship LTL Common Carrier. These are not our trucks. Changes to your delivery, requested by you, once we ship will incur significant charges from the carrier. Freight and supply chain have seen significant challenges and we anticipate this continuing. We attempt to get you the best tracking information with projected eta as possible. Interruptions and delays have been challenging over this time and can be expected for the foreseeable future.
Step 9- Delivery inspection. Your onsite designated person must inspect the stone for damage. If damaged the delivery must be rejected. We see less than 1% of shipments damaged but it can happen and if there is damage the delivery must be rejected. We will then file claim and replace the affected item (s). A delivery that is signed for and not inspected will most likely negate any damage claim. Very important on site person understands this.
We will answer any questions you send to us; we do not make phone calls; we want all our response for you to have in writing.
Some cemeteries require a form to be completed detailing the source of the headstone. Your graphic will have all this information for you to be able to complete and return to the cemetery.
